Opening Day is finally here!!! Some things to remember for this morning….Trailers can begin entering the park at 8:00a. All trailers must be in place by 8:30a and should enter the south entrance of the park, by the pool. Players can begin entering the park at 8:40a and must be on their trailers no later than 9:15a!The Parade will kickoff at 9:30a sharp out of the North Entrance of the park (the campground entrance). We started the drop off loop last year for families to drop off while keeping traffic moving. Please see the diagram attached to locate and understand the drop loop. This will not be a place to park your car and walk your player to their trailer. The drop off loop will be closed at 9:15a as we prepare for the start of the parade. If you need to park your car, you will need to utilize the pool parking lot or open area behind the pool, so please plan ahead and get there early. The parade route will be the same as last year. We will be starting the parade this year from the North Entrance of the park. See the attached diagram for this years parade route! We are currently planning to drop off players at the entrance of Kaiser field where all teams will head to the outfield to be recognized with their coaches during the ceremony. After the ceremony ends, parents will be able to pick up their players at the field entrance.Let’s Play Ball! ... See MoreSee Less

Opening Day is officially upon us! As all of our seasons kick off in the coming days, there are so many reasons for all of us to be excited! Summer is so close! The sounds of a ball game taking place! Games being played under the lights! Kids with blue smiles from their third slushy of the day! All of these are memories many adults have from their childhood! Every one of us has a few stories we could tell! While we all prepare to watch our kids play their games this summer, here are a few reminders from our children….· I’m a KID· It’s just a GAME· My coach is a VOLUNTEER· The officials are HUMANS· NO College scholarships will be handed out today! This community is proud of its baseball and softball history! PCABA is a place for our youth to develop and grow in their athletics skills. As adults we all need to remember that our kids play these sports because they are fun and to be surrounded by their friends! As the competition kicks up over the coming weeks, please remember to make these moments enjoyable ones for your kids! Signs have been placed on each one of our fields at Pastime Park to help us all remember the real reason these games are being played…..For The Kids!Let’s have a GREAT baseball/softball season!!! ... Park ImprovementsWhat a difference a year makes! As you enter Pastime Park this season you will feel the same nostalgia from years prior but also notice some subtle changes from last year’s season. All 3 fields within Pastime have seen updates, along with some general park changes and we wanted to share the progress at our lovely community park!Overall Park Updates:The addition of a storage shed was placed by the concession stand recently. The vision of this shed not only created some much needed space for field equipment and supplies (which helps the organization overall) but also provided a centralized location to install an AED. An AED has been installed in the “Crows Nest” now that it has been cleaned out and provided a more functional space for coaches to access bases and rakes. All 3 fields received new scoreboards and working remotes during the middle of the season last year to really spruce them up!Kaiser Field:Kaiser Field received brand new fencing around the entire field this offseason! Brand new chain link fencing and posts for the backstop and foul lines bring a fresh look this year. But the real beauty of Kaiser Field has always been the wooden outfield fence which has been completely replaced! We were also able to purchase custom made foul poles for the outfield wall, that really takes the field to the next level! If you haven’t seen Kaiser Field yet this year, you are in for a real treat! We would like to thank Holmes Lumber for helping provide the lumber to complete this project!Pony Field:Pony Field also received a fencing upgrade this offseason. The players field entrances were very far away from the dugouts and while the fence upgrades to Kaiser Field took place, the same company was able to add fencing bump outs to the Pony field dugouts. These bump outs provide a safe and more convenient way for players to enter/exit the field. These bump outs also give players and coaches a safe way to view the game as well! (These were a huge hit amongst the JA Varsity Softball ladies last Friday night!)Barker Field:Barker Field got a landscaping update this offseason. New shrubs were planted in center field to replace some old shrubs and replaces a previous eye sore. The list of improvements across our Rec. and Travel sports is lengthy but we all hope these improvements help show the support and dedication to our youth that this entire community shows! ... The Concession Stand is officially prepped and ready for the season! All of our workers have gone through training with the Union County Health Department and are ready to serve you and your children throughout this baseball/softball season. Just like last year, the plan is to have the Stand open as much as possible, when feasible. Several updates have taken place inside the stand to help with better efficiency for our workers while they help support this community. We are happy to report that a brand new slushy machine has been purchased and our taste testers have given 2 thumbs up. Come grab an all beef hot dog, popcorn and a drink while you watch a game in the park! (Yes, they are all beef! 😀)The Concession Stand provides a fantastic summer job to the older youth in our Plain City community. It teaches them many different workforce skills which they will be able to use later in life. We do ask that everyone remember these are kids! For many of them, this is their first job. They are doing their absolute best! All of the fan favorites remain the same this year as our menu remains the same as last year! ... See MoreSee Less
